Suburban industrial design homes

Residential

A former garage, infill site dictated an innovative approach to a new housing scheme.

The primary aim was to mitigate any overlooking and neighbourly, privacy issues. Therefore, the buildings are orientated with inward facing, courtyard terraces. Parking is provided below the terraces, making the overall scheme extremely efficient within the tight constraints of the site.

The site previously accommodated precast concrete structures and this aesthetic has influenced the new design of the scheme, which has sloping, mansard roofs finished in zinc-coated aluminium.

We worked closely with Hertsmere Council and Modplan Contractors to achieve a high-quality scheme within a contaminated site.
