9 Apartments, London
Easter House, Southwark

Grayling Thomas Architects successfully obtained planning consent for the redevelopment of a former doctor’s surgery into a contemporary residential building. The design features a five-storey façade with a set-back sixth storey that accommodates a luxurious two-floor penthouse apartment. This new structure adeptly addresses the challenges of its corner site, surrounded by existing housing.
The building comprises nine apartments, accessible via a single accommodation staircase and a lift. To mitigate flood risk, the ground floor apartments are designed on two levels, ensuring that bedrooms remain secure. All apartments meet Code 4 for Sustainable Homes, boasting exceptional energy efficiency and airtightness.
The penthouse serves as the project’s centrepiece, offering 360-degree panoramic views of London from both the apartment and its private, grassed roof terrace.
