Office Development, Chilton

Chilton, Oxfordshire

This project involves the construction of a two-storey office building in Chilton, South Oxfordshire. Designed to reflect the traditional barns commonly found in the region, the building features timber cladding and tiled hipped roofs, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the local vernacular architecture.

The office building is strategically positioned on a site adjacent to the A34 trunk road. This new proposal replaces a previously approved office building, offering a larger footprint and a more prominent location on the site. This repositioning enhances the building's visibility and appeal to prospective tenants.

A key aspect of the design is its commitment to sustainability. The building employs a fabric-first approach to the building envelope, prioritising low-energy performance and efficiency. Additionally, it is designed to be net zero in use, incorporating features such as solar panels to minimise its environmental impact.

Overall, this development aims to provide a functional and aesthetically pleasing workspace that aligns with both modern sustainability standards and the traditional architectural character of South Oxfordshire.
