8 New House & Barn Conversion
Northhamptonshire
Grayling Thomas Architects are delighted to present a development project involving the conversion of three stone agricultural barns, the removal of a Dutch barn, and the addition of five new properties. These properties range in size from two to five bedrooms and are arranged around a newly created farm courtyard, offering an informal rural setting.
The design retains the existing openings of the barns, incorporating new glazed screens and windows within these spaces. This approach preserves the historical character while introducing modern functionality.
The aesthetic of the original barns is echoed in the new, individually designed houses. Constructed with local stone, natural slate roofs, and timber windows, these homes blend seamlessly with the rural landscape, maintaining a cohesive and authentic appearance.
This project highlights our dedication to preserving historical architecture while delivering modern, sustainable living spaces that respect and enhance their rural surroundings.
